The Emperor's New Clothes
About the show
By Nissim Aloni
Directed by: Yair Sherman
"But he hasn't got anything on!" – so ends the fairytale by the renowned Danish author Hans Christian Andersen.
And so begins Nissim Aloni's satirical play.
The shouting boy finds himself in the eye of the storm of a political conspiracy, becomes a plaything of those in power. The cry produces echoes in the media, drawing in journalists, government ministers, celebrities, tailors, circus performers, prostitutes, and even a girl in love and a horse.
Nissim Aloni has created a parable about a society, which has become blind, perverted, and corrupt.
